Navigating the art world can be isolating and overwhelming at times. Belonging to a multidisciplinary collective of artists committed to a positive mission builds camaraderie around a shared sense of purpose.

Doug Welsh and Liz Gates formed G5 in 2020 because they saw a need to connect with fellow artists in a way that was supportive and encouraging. Since then, individual artists within G5 have collaborated on art making and service projects, offered input on each other’s works in progress, promoted each other’s works and skills, shared connections, and brainstormed ideas for furthering the group’s and members’ careers and practices.
